An Orge, A Beast & 93 Million Subscribers

We had the rare opportunity to push our existing collaboration to a whole new level; we were going to be building an awe-inspiring shopping experience for the one and only **Mr. Beast**, for Mr. Beast x Shrek Merch Drop.

We were given a big canvas and our job was to paint the right picture. We had a plan and we were ready to implement it.

Youtuber, Gamer, Philanthropist.

One of the biggest and most subscribed on Youtube, Mr.Beast is an iconic personality famously known for his amazing fun-filled content and extravagance.

From his high-production-value videos and brightly colored dollar-bill-focused thumbnails, ranging from crazy pranks, dares, and even gaming. Mr. Beast is the definition of “fun-filled” tucked up in a bright little bow.

Packing All The Fun In A Modular Design

We always try to find the best fitting visuals for our clients - and for Mr.Beast, we had the golden opportunity to take a look at some bold and gritty styles. First was the layout, we went for a mix of modular and breathable structure, like a 90s comic book style with big fonts.

We accompanied this with bright hues and some snazzy design elements like pixel art, and of course, dollar bills.

Animation and interactions were thought of from the design level, from the splash screen to the hover animation on buttons.

A Birth & A Rebirth

Development was amazing. We are always on our A-game for all our clients, this was Mr. Beast, so we were expecting a lot of traffic and so we had to optimize and re-optimize our larger assets; images, bundles, and font. Everything had to be fast and responsive.

Now comes the fun part; gamification. We created two awesome games, “Lambo Jump” & “Slap The Boys”, both came with amazing redeemable rewards, all built on Phaser.js.

That was not all, this gave rise to the birth of our new open-source library called [react-shopify-drop](https://github.com/basementstudio/react-shopify-drop) (still in Alpha).
